A north-south initiative connecting young readers and literature in a special, real-time event on Culture Night.
If you’re a young reader or author in Dublin, Belfast, Sligo (or if you’re just curious!) you’ll have a very special chance on Culture Night to take part in a virtual visit to the studio of a picture book artist. You can watch the artist at work, ask questions and try out some picture book techniques for yourself with picture book artists and authors Niamh Sharkey, Marie-Louise Fitzpatrick and Annie West. Open Studio will use the latest technology to let you take a virtual tour of the studio of a professional children’s writer or illustrator, based in another city.
Open Studio is a partnership of Temple Bar Cultural Trust, Children’s Books Ireland, Kids Own Publishing Partnership, Young at Art, and the National Youth Council of Ireland, and is funded by the Department of Tourism, Culture and Sport.
Places allocated on a first come first served basis at each venue.
Drop-in activities also available.
