Culture Night Belfast isn’t just about the amazing activities, exhibits and performances taking place under every roof. There’s also a dizzying array of action-packed events, spectacles and experiences to be had between venues too. So let Culture Night Belfast take you Out and About between 4pm – 10pm in Cathedral Quarter.
On Culture Night the public spaces and thoroughfares of the area play host to street theatre, walkabout characters, light and film projections, live music and taster tours. In short, whether you’re a big kid or a small one, come hail or shine, there’s plenty to keep you occupied and distracted throughout the evening. To help you on your way, here’s just a few of the countless outdoor delights around the Cathedral Quarter on Culture Night. |

Local musical legends The Wee Weirdies, the magical voices of The Lynn Sisters and urban music and dance with Audiogasmn and Silhouette will be among the troubadours you’ll discover tucked under trees, perched on balconies, down alleys and hanging from lamp posts on street corners to entertain and edify throughout Culture Night. |

Walk-about performers during the evening include Clown Bike Taxi, Dick Diamond, the Dryad Tree Lady and The Victorian Policeman, who will not only entertain you, but help point you in the direction of shows and events throughout Cathedral Quarter. With barely a raised eyebrow, Mr H performs some truly hair-raising acrobatic tricks in Cotton Court. |

Catch a bit of everything at Custom House Square including a 40s disco and classic movies from The Red Bull Dodge and a small collection of vintage cars. The irrepressible Jitterbug Jackson will
be back with his boogie-woogie whirlwind of a show. The perspicacious Mr Jackson will jive and juggle with all manner of props and paraphernalia for your delectation and delight in Custom House Square. |

Rest weary travellers and wind down your frenetic and full evening with a live film soundtrack at St Georges Church, High
Street from 8.30pm.
Culture Night and Belfast Film Festival team up to present a live soundtrack to a classic film by Belfast’s own experimental/ electronic producer Barry Cullen.
The film in question is Medvedkin’ssilent classic, Happiness,a surprisingly irreverent comedy about early life in the Soviet Union. |

FirePoise will be bringing their new Puridai fire show to Custom House Square, 9.00pm sharp. The show features four fine fire
artists, with music provided by gypsy jazz band Underscore Orkestra. After this breathtaking show, several local fire artists will
be taking over with an informal fire display. |

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Each choir perform 30 minute sets in Rosemary Street (the First Presbyterian Church), Academy Street (University of Ulster) and Waring St (HKR Architects).
The diverse chorus of choirs are Mac Giolla Bhríde’s Traditional Gaeilge Choir, Belfast Community Gospel Choir and the Open Arts Community Choir. Catch them for an unforgettable musical experience.
Join your incomparable Culture Night comperes Grimes and McKee at the Writer’s Square Marquee from 4.30pm onwards, for an evening of unadulterated entertainment. From Irish language band Carrickmannon to Bollywood and Mexican dancers to local bands the Emerald Armada and NI Soul Troupe, it’s a non-stop musical extravaganza, culminating in a Beat Carnival Party in the Square at 9.30pm. |
