Rock and pop stars have their greatest hits releases, so why shouldn’t one of the greatest composers of all time not have his too? That’s the idea behind the live stream from pianist John O’Connor.

Portico brings you a celebration of Beethoven’s greatest hits in a live stream on Friday, December 11 at 7:30pm.

The acclaimed Irish pianist John O’Conor to Portico for a celebration of Beethoven’s finest work: the ‘Pathetique’, ‘Appassionata’ and, of course, the ‘Moonlight’ sonatas.

This concert will be streamed live from Portico to your home via the internet. To enjoy this concert you need an internet-enabled device such as a computer, tablet, digital TV or phone.
Instructions on how to access the live event will be sent to ticket holders shortly before the concert starts.

Portico’s ability to live stream concerts in high quality has been made possible by funding from the Arts Council of Northern Ireland’s Organisations Emergency Programme.

This concert is supported by the National Lottery through the Arts Council of Northern Ireland. Tickets cost £10. If there is more than one of you enjoying the concert please consider buying more than one ticket as performers and venues need your support.

The programme on the night is: Sonata No. 8 in c minor Op. 13 “Pathetique”; Sonata No. 14 in c sharp minor Op 27 No 2 “Moonlight”; and, Sonata No. 23 in f minor Op 57 “Appassionata”.

The Portico of Ards is an Arts and Heritage Centre in Portaferry, County Down. All events take place in our restored church with its unique Greek-inspired and grade A listed architecture. The acoustics are fabulous, the pews are original and the ample parking all around is free.

When open the capacity is 300 (includes a horseshoe shaped balcony) and seats are not allocated.
