A Statement from Susan Picken, Director, Cathedral Quarter Trust

Like everyone else across the globe we are trying to come to terms with the new reality in which we find ourselves. Our hearts go out to all of those who have lost loved ones or their livelihoods and, in particular, to our friends and colleagues in the arts, culture and hospitality sectors who face an unprecedented challenge over the coming months. We are following advice from Government and the Public Health Agency and will be closing the Cathedral Quarter Trust and Culture Night office from Thursday 19th March 2020.

We will be working remotely for the foreseeable future and will be contactable by email and mobile phone as normal. Contact details can be found in the ‘Contact’ section of our website

The impact of the Coronavirus on arts, culture, hospitality and business in the Cathedral Quarter is nothing short of cataclysmic and we will do everything we can to help and support everyone in the area over the coming difficult months.

In relation to Culture Night Belfast – at this point in time the future is impossible to predict but, at the moment, we are planning to hold Culture Night on Friday 18th September 2020 in line with Culture Night Dublin and others across Ireland. This plan may change as the pandemic progresses so we will issue updates as the situation develops.

We are also looking carefully at what we can do to adapt Culture Night Belfast to a digital based format for this year and will keep you updated as our plans develop.

Finally, as always, we are committed to supporting and promoting our city’s artistic and creative community and we will be in touch with you in the coming weeks to see how we can support you and, together, navigate the uncertainty of the next few months.

Our love and support to you all.

Susan Picken, Director, Cathedral Quarter Trust & Claire Hall, Event Manager, Culture Night Belfast
