Make do and mend was the phrase that took hold in World War 2, and now the Repair Café, Belfast is to host a special online event to help plough through what needs mended.
The Zoom event Mending Pile Meet UP on December 3 will look at repairing and restoring clothes you love to wear with the Repair Café sewing team.
A chance to slow down, connect online, chat and sew together, the event will run from 8.30 to 9pm and is free.
All are welcome, no matter your previous experience as the sewing team will be on hand to offer tips and advice if you aren’t sure how to mend something.
Repair Cafe Belfast has been holding pop up repair events since 2017, where skilled volunteers help people fix their broken things.
As they can’t hold face to face events at the current time, they have been exploring other ways to do “what we love – bring people together, share skills, cut waste and build community.”
