The 2020 Capture Conference has produced a packed online programme featuring Disney animators, Academy Award nominated cinematographers, and photographers kicking off on November 6.

Capture Conference aims to explore the space between creativity & technology. VR, film, gaming, animation & immersive.

The first event is a live Q&A with Lawrence Sher, winner of a BAFTA Award for Best Cinematography for hit movie Joker, as well as a host of other accolades for his work on hit movies such as the Hangover comedies. Even those who have not seen Game of Thrones will have seen the photos that accompany the promotion and even in Belfast International Airport. Stills photographer, Helen Sloan was responsible for many of these, having worked on the hit series from the pilot episode through to the climatic ending.

On November 12 Helen will answer questions on the breadth of work that included landscapes, portraiture, studio-lit posters and much more. Netflix’s first ever full-length animated production was Klaus. Production Designer and Art Director Szymon Biernacki will discuss his work on Klaus on November 19.

Syzmon has been involved in multiple different productions, including animations, animatics for games and animated series, as well as scooping an Emmy for Klaus.

Sallyann Houghton is the Business Development Manager at Epic Games as well as working with Unreal Engine. An insight into the creative processes driving game development in 2020 and beyond will be one of the aspects covered in a Q&A on November 20.

Big Hero 6 was one of the recent slew of successes for Walt Disney Studios. Animator Daniel Peixe will let us peak into the Magic Kingdom’s studios and his work on Big Hero 6 on November 26.

When it comes to hit movies (and with hit soundtracks!) few have matched The Greatest Showman in recent years. Armagh born Seamus McGarvey was cinematographer for the hit and has received Academy Award nominations for Atonement and Anna Korena. His Q&A takes place on November 27.
