Pop/rock duo from Belfast
Mulit-intrumentalist eenagers Orlaith Forsythe and Mollie McGinn, met in school and started playing together after they decided that busking would be a happier alternative than getting a part time job, and haven’t looked back since.
They have been together for around a year but in that time they’ve gone from street buskers with a semi-viral video reaching 55K views on FB to a proper band with an EP and two music videos who opened for Flash Harry in The Waterfront Hall in December and met Robert Plant, from Led Zeppelin while busking in Belfast!
Having both performed on BBC Radio Ulster separately prior to their partnership, the girls started playing on local radio stations throughout the year including Blast 106, Belfast 89FM and Lynette Fay’s BBC Radio Ulster Blas Ceol show.
Showcasing both their interpretations of old classics such as ABBA and Led Zeppelin , they also proved their capabilities of writing and performing their own material being praised for their ‘soaring harmonies and originality’ with Lynette saying ‘They are two seventeen year old superstars in my humble opinion, definitely a duo to keep an eye and an ear out for in the future.’ Their single ‘Wilderness’ received a ton of AirPlay and was selected as RTE Radio 2fm’s track of the day and was picked for the RTE Radio 1 playlist! Johnny Hero of u105 said of the girls; ‘The best new act I’ve heard in years.’Get Directions
